1. Who we are
Vaultr is a personal finance tracking application. References to “Vaultr”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy refer to the Vaultr service and its operators. You can reach us at vaultrapp@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information — your name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
- Financial data you enter — transactions, accounts, budgets, and categories you create inside Vaultr. This data belongs to you.
- Usage data — basic session and authentication tokens to keep you signed in securely.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Vaultr Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we never store raw card details.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the Vaultr service.
- To authenticate you and maintain session security.
- To process subscription payments via Stripe.
- To send transactional emails (password reset, subscription receipts).
4. Data we do not collect or sell
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
- We do not display advertisements.
- We do not connect to or read data from your bank accounts.
5. Third-party services
Vaultr uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data processed by Stripe.
- PostgreSQL hosting — your data is stored in a managed Postgres database. The hosting provider processes data solely to store and retrieve it on our behalf.
6. Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and financial records will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Sessions use cryptographically random tokens. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorised access.
8. Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at vaultrapp@gmail.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice inside the app. Continued use of Vaultr after changes constitutes acceptance.
